Ok so this is a complicated situation (I think). I bought 2 iphones as part of B1G1 free deal. After using the iphone for 2 days, I did not like it, so I bought a Galaxy S7 on ebay with the intention of selling the iphone. Then I would use the money from the iphone sale to pay off the Galaxy I bought on ebay, while continuing to make the monthly payments on the iphone. Problem is, I did not realize the iphone I am selling, could potentially be locked since I will still be making payments on it. Is this true? Can I sell the iphone, while still making payments on it?
Well you can sell the phone but the buyer will have to be a ATT user and realize that for the next 30 months minus the time you have had the phones that the phone will be locked to ATT. I myself wont buy a device on next agreement as the person selling it could say it was lost or stolen and I would be out the cash.
It is your phone so yes, you can sell it if you want to. There is no requirement you use the phone, just that you pay for it. Also, yes the phones are locked to ATT and won't be eligible to be unlocked until paid off. You can always pay off the phone but I believe any phone that is getting the monthly BOGO credit will stop getting the credit once the phone is paid off.
